Isleburn and Talisman Energy (UK) Limited help local good causes
The safe and successful completion of a large fabrication project has earned a total of £21,000 for a number of local good causes.
The remarkable sum was raised through a joint incentive scheme to encourage the highest standards of health, safety, environmental care and quality during the fabrication of a piece of offshore equipment by Evanton-based Isleburn for Talisman Energy (UK) Limited.
The project involved fabrication of a 200 tonne caisson structure for the Scapa field in the North Sea. Commissioned by Talisman in June 2008 it was completed on schedule and loaded out at Nigg last month. It has since been installed at the Claymore platform approximately 161km north-east of Aberdeen.
Cheques were presented to local organisations and individuals nominated by Isleburn employees involved in the project.
Isleburn Operations Director, Neil MacArthur, said: “We are delighted that through successfully completing this important project for Talisman to the highest safety and quality levels we have been able to jointly help these very worthwhile local causes. We are very grateful to Talisman for their generosity.
“Because the groups that benefit are all nominated by people directly involved in the project and are close to their hearts, schemes like this really do act as a genuine incentive. Over the years through similar arrangements we have raised a very considerable amount that has benefited many organisations and individuals and we will continue to do so in the future.”
Those that benefited were:
Highland Hospice, Isobel Rhind Centre, Duthac House Care Home, Dundonnell Mountain Rescue Team, Skye Mountain Rescue Team, Chris Cameron, Pinthong Hatch, Sophie Anderson, Black Rock Rovers, Maryburgh School, Kiltearn Primary, Hilton of Cadboll Primary School, Invergordon Academy School Fund and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
